Legal definition

Exploitation includes, but is not limited to: 

  • sexual exploitation 

  • forced labour 

  • servitude 

  • slavery 

  • removal of organs 

  • securing services by force, threats, or deception securing services from children or vulnerable adults

What it looks like in real life
  • Being made to perform labour, sexual acts, criminal activity, or domestic work under control. 

  • Having earnings taken or debts imposed that can never be repaid. 

  • Being isolated, frightened, or unable to leave safely. 

  • Having personal autonomy removed.
