Shanta

Shanta worked at Harrods from 1993 to 1994. During this time, she was abused by Mohamed Fayed in circumstances that shifted from a seemingly open workplace into a private and controlled environment inside his office. The harm she experienced was not incidental — it was enabled by staff hierarchies, informal networks, and organisational systems that protected him and discouraged intervention.

Shanta's testimony now forms part of the wider effort to ensure that these patterns are brought into public view, recognised for what they were, and subjected to meaningful investigation and accountability.

In order to protect their anonymity some survivors have opted to use pseudonyms. Images may represent survivors at the age they were exploited. Images may not be actual likenesses.
